Dr. Sam Morgan is excited to be serving as the Executive Director of Resources for Independence Central Valley (RICV), a dynamic and innovative agency that encourages people with disabilities to live unapologetically and be in control of their lives. He is very dedicated to this population and is a strong advocate and bridge builder within the community.
Dr. Morgan has dedicated nearly 25 years to serving individuals in need of guidance, advocacy, and empowerment. Much of his passion to serve involves advocating for persons who for far too long have been marginalized, an after-thought in society.
Beginning his career in 1988 as a Resident Counselor in the Upward Bound Program at Fresno State, Dr. Morgan has dedicated himself to investing in the individual so that they may achieve their goals; as well as strengthening the organization to expand its capacity to serve clients of diverse backgrounds, challenges, and abilities.
Coming from a background in advocacy and counseling, Dr. Morgan worked capacities before stepping into his current role as Executive Director of RICV. Quality Group Homes as a House Manager, Community Transition Services, Jackson House, level 4I home for CVRC adolescent boys, House Manager, and Central Valley Regional Center for 21 years as a Case Manager and Program Manager.
Dr. Morgan holds multiple degrees, Bachelors in Psychology from Fresno State, Masters in Psych Counseling, (MFT) from National University, and Doctorate in Christian Counseling from Ecclesia University of Divinity, International in Fresno.
Highly respected for his accomplishments in the work place and community, Dr. Morgan hopes to leverage his years in service and developed partnerships to build upon the organization’s strong legacy. He looks forward to an exciting future with RICV helping individuals become stewards of their destiny.
